The objective of the proposed renovation of this maisonette flat is to create a more spacious and welcoming living area, a brighter entrance and a more functional and aesthetically pleasing staircase.

The existing enclosed staircase had unusable space underneath it, and despite the presence of a roof window, the light did not adequately illuminate the entrance hall. By removing the partition and modifying the staircase configuration, natural light is now able to reach the entrance level.

The proposed staircase enhances the living area with its geometric design and Iroko solid wood and painted steel finishes, and it is equipped with ample storage space underneath. The period flooring has been refurbished, and the kitchen wall has been removed to create a welcoming and generously proportioned open-plan space.
